Domino Double 9 Mexican Train:

is a popular variation of the traditional dominoes game, known as "Mexican Train." It is typically played with a set of Double 9 dominoes, which includes tiles with values from 0 to 9, with each value appearing twice. This game is often enjoyed by groups of players and is suitable for both casual and competitive play.

Here's a basic overview of how to play Domino Double 9 Mexican Train:

Objective: The main objective of the game is to be the first player to play all of your dominoes or to score the fewest points when a predetermined number of rounds is completed.

Setup:

1. You'll need a set of Double 9 dominoes. In this set, there are 91 tiles in total.

2. Players draw dominoes to determine the starting player. The player with the highest double (e.g., 12-12, 11-11, etc.) goes first. If no one has a double, players continue drawing until someone does.

Gameplay:

1. The game begins with the player holding the highest double placing it in the center of the playing area. This domino is known as the "Mexican Train."

2. Players take turns in a clockwise direction, trying to match one of their dominoes to the open ends of the tiles in the Mexican Train. You can only play a domino if it has a matching number to the open end of the train or if it's a double (which can be played on any open end).

3. If a player can't make a valid move, they must draw a domino from the boneyard (the face-down pile of unused dominoes) and pass their turn. If they can play the drawn tile, they can do so immediately.

4. If a player has a double, they may start a new "personal train" by placing it vertically and playing off that double in future turns.

5. Once a player has played all their dominoes, the round ends. If the Mexican Train hasn't been closed (i.e., no one can play on it), that player scores zero points for that round. If the Mexican Train has been closed, other players tally the points left in their hands (the total of the pips on their unplayed dominoes). These points are added to their score for that round.

6. You can choose to play a set number of rounds, and the player with the lowest total score at the end of the predetermined number of rounds wins the game.

Special Rules:

  • "Doubles" are often played as a special rule. When a player plays a double, they typically get to take an extra turn immediately.
  • Some versions of the game have additional rules, such as allowing players to play on each other's personal trains or having a "spinner" rule where players can play off the open ends of a spinner (the first double played in a round) as if it were any number.
  • Remember that rules can vary slightly from group to group, so it's a good idea to clarify any specific rules before starting a game of Domino Double 12 Mexican Train. Enjoy your game!
